The Plastic Surgeon is the qualified specialist for the reconstruction of any type of ulcer in any part of the body. There exists ulcers due to traumas, diseases such as diabetes or arterial or venous vascular problems, ulcers caused by the pressure produced by patients that are in bed for a long period of time since they are sick and unable to wander around or in patients with paraplegia or quadriplegic, which means that these are patients with neurological consequences which takes them to be in a bed for the rest of their lives or in a wheel chair. The treatment of these injuries may vary from the use of auto-implants of the skin up to the use of graft flaps, myocutaneous flaps pedicle graft or by means of a surgery.
