The Plastic Surgeon is the medical personnel highest qualified for the treatment of facial traumas, since he is trained to treat the different wounds of the soft tissues, as well as the repair of different bone fractures of the face. These treatments are performed after accidents that produce wounds which can be either simple or complicated, according to the magnitude of the trauma received. The injuries are evaluated by means of facial x-rays tests, computerized axial tomography and clinical evaluation which complement the final diagnosis of the patient.

In some cases the patients have aftereffects to the facial trauma, even after the reconstruction has been carried out and this would require subsequent treatments which could be as simple as scare revisions up to bone implants in order to reconstruct the bone structure affected.
